August 22, 2024 INVITATION TO BID Bid number 24-005 Sealed bids will be received by the Choctaw County Board of Education, 107 Tom Orr Drive, Butler, Alabama, at the office of the Superintendent for JANITORIAL SUPPLIES. Bids will be received until 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 12, 2024 at the above address at which time they will be opened publicly and read aloud. The Board reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids, and to waive formalities and to award the contract to the most desirable bidder in accordance with applicable law. The Board also reserves the right to award the bid to the company with the lowest overall bid on all items or acceptable comparable, or to award the bid by item whichever is more cost effective for the school system. Items listed may be increased or decreased according to needs. If unable to bid, please sign and return advising reason for not submitting quotation. RESPONSIBILITY: Each vendor shall be responsible for the delivery of materials of such quality and in quantities as specified by the various school principals. The failure to adhere to accepted proposals will be deemed sufficient reason for canceling purchasing commitments and for not entertaining future proposals of defaulting contractors. DELIVERY DATE: Each vendor must indicate delivery date and no product is to be delivered until requested. All bids must include the cost of transportation to the destination of shipment. If there is any decline in price at the time of delivery, the Board of Education is to be given the advantage of the decline. CONTRACT PERIOD: The contract period for this bid shall be from October 1, 2024 to September 30, 2025. Prices quoted are to be guaranteed for this period. ALABAMA IMMIGRATION LAW COMPLIANCE: E-Verify Memorandum of Understanding Alabama laws require that, as a condition for the award of a contract by a school board to a business entity or employer with one or more employees working in Alabama, the business entity or employer must provide documentation of enrollment in the E-Verify program. During the performance of the contract, the business entity or employer shall participate in the E-Verify program and shall verify every employee that is required to be verified according to the applicable federal rules and regulations. The vendor’s E-Verify Memorandum of Understanding must be included with the bid. If you do not believe these requirements are applicable to your entity, include an explanation justifying such exemption.
