Regional Parks is inviting proposal submissions to conduct one or both of the following tasks within the Deer Creek Hills Open Space Preserve (Preserve):Controlling invasive species through repeated herbicide application treatments. The target species include milk thistle (Silybum marianum), yellow star thistle (Centaurea solstitialis) rush skeletonweed (Chondrilla juncea), perennial pepper weed (Lepidium latifolium), onion grass (Romulea rosea) and Italian thistle (Carduus pycnocephalus).Planting and irrigation of approximately 200 trees within a 1-acre area consisting of valley oak (Quercus lobata) and blue oak (Quercus douglasii) seedlings. The goal of the contract is to reduce invasive plant species and establish healthy oak woodland habitat within the Preserve. There are two discrete tasks and proposals may be submitted for one or both of the tasks listed above. The identified services may be awarded as two separate contracts, to two separate contractors; however, if one contractor successfully bids on both services then those services shall be combined and issued under a single contract. Professional services shall be required until the end of the Contract Period (March 15, 2026). Regular communication and meetings with the Regional Parks and Conservancy staff will be an integral part of the Project activities.
