Reid Park Zoo’s mission is “to create inspiring memories for all by connecting people and animals to ensure the protection of wild animals and wild places.”The Zoo, founded in 1965 with a collection of birds, prairie dogs, farm animals, and a few squirrel monkeys, has expanded to a 24-acre campus that houses hundreds of animals in naturalistic exhibits and annually hosts more than 500,000 visitors. Reid Park Zoo is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.The zoo is currently in the process of implementing its new master plan, which includes entry renovations, a new flamingo exhibit, a new play area and a 4.5-acre expansion for Asia themed exhibits and facilities.The City desires to select a qualified firm to provide turn-key installations for a variety of interpretive displays, signage and graphics, which may also involve interactive work including audio, video, phone applications, etc.The total projected budget is currently estimated at $500,000. The budget will be all-inclusive, including but not limited to: fees, taxes, indirect expenses, design, engineering, permitting (if applicable), fabrication, installation of the work and closeout, including as-built drawings and operation and maintenance manuals.
