Intent to Sole Source Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College October 3, 2024 In accordance with Section 11-35-1560(a) of the SC Consolidated Procurement Code, and Section 19-445.2015 of the SC Code of State Regulations, Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College intends to enter into a sole source contract for: ACUE Training Description of the Agency need that this procurement meets: The College plans to purchase additional professional development micro-credentials provided by ACUE (The Association of College and University Educators) that continue faculty professional development provided through the PBI grant. ACUE training was previously provided through the SCPRIDE grant project. OCtech participated in a limited ACUE training in 2021 during a pilot program to train ten faculty members on campus prior to the SC-PRIDE grant initiative and continued the training of 63 faculty members with the purchase of additional ACUE micro-credentials delivered in fall 2022, spring 2023 and fall 2024. This purchase will include training for 46 employees to complete courses. The training covers curriculum management and student support service skills that will enhance instruction. This training will specifically match the pilot program provide for OCtech faculty over the last three years. Description of market research Agency performed to determine the availability of products or services that would meet the Agency’s needs. This training will need to specifically match the pilot program and previously delivered microcredentials provided for OCtech faculty. In addition, the OCtech faculty will have the opportunity to continue modules building on the foundational knowledge acquired in the previous training that also leads to certification. Because the training must support and build upon the training previously completed, the purchase of these professional development micro-credentials for faculty are a sole source purchase. Description of supplies, construction, information technology, and/or service Vendor will provide under the contract: ACUE Micro-credential Cohorts for faculty. Detailed explanation why no other vendor’s supplies, construction, information technology, and/or services will meet the needs of the Agency: ACUE courses and associated micro-credentials and related services are a sole source. The ACUE Program is sold and distributed exclusively by ACUE.
