Intent to Single Source for Forensic DNA Testing Lab

On occasion, DNA testing must be conducted outside of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), which serves as the Tampa Police Department's primary resource. This applies to evidence that the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) will not accept under its guidelines, or that falls outside its scope of work. In such cases, DNA analysis must be performed by a reputable, accredited company that is also approved by FDLE for CODIS database submission and has its own extensive database.
