Inmate Health Services

Description

The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to establish a contract with a vendor to provide health care services for the Inmates housed in the Chesapeake Correctional Center (“CCC”), with the primary objective to provide high-quality and cost-effective health care Services to include, without limitation, the following: (1)  establishment and provision of on-site medical, dental, pharmacy and mental health Services to meet the immediate medical needs of inmates incarcerated in the Chesapeake Correctional Center (e.g., initial physical assessments, ongoing evaluation and treatment of minor medical conditions, stabilization of urgent and emergency medical conditions), and (2) establishment an off-site preferred provider network of hospitals, physicians, and other ancillary medical providers to provide medically necessary Services to inmates which cannot be provided on-site at the Chesapeake Correctional Center. All services shall be provided in accordance with standards and applicable regulations established by the American Correctional Association (“ACA”), the Virginia State Board of Local and Regional Jails, and the Chesapeake Sheriff’s Office.
