Providence City Hall 25 Dorrance Street Providence, RI 02903 City of Providence – HVAC and Electrical Upgrades at Two Fire Stations Addendum #4 – Responses to Bidder Questions 8/6/26 The City has received several questions from prospective bidders on the project to upgrade the HVAC and electrical equipment at the Branch Ave and North Main St fire stations. Below are the responses from the City: 1) Are the Architectural drawings mentioned in the Plans available? A: Basic floor plans developed during the fire station building evaluations are attached for bidder information. 2) Is there a RCP ? A: No, there is not an RCP as part of the drawing package. The mechanical contractor shall be responsible for fitment of all mechanical equipment. 3) What are the dimensions of the Generator Pads? A: Both generator pads are nominally 8 ft by 4 ft, though the actual dimension is approximately ½ inch less resulting in a usable surface of approximately 95.5” x 47.5”. 4) Where are the Bollards being used? A: Bollards will only be needed to protect new outdoor electric service equipment. Bollard installation to be coordinated with RI Energy as part of the installation of the new transformer and switchgear at North Main St and new pole mounted transformer at Branch Ave. Please note that new fencing is required at both the Branch Ave. and North Main locations for the generator enclosure due to the new generator’s increased length. It is the intention of the construction documents for the contractor to provide the new fencing. 5) Where is the location of the generator annunciators? A: Neither existing generator currently has a remote annunciator panel. The annunciator panels are located on the generators themselves, photos attached. New annunciators for the new generator shall be located adjacent to the existing fire alarm control panel as noted on the generator control wiring schedule. 6) What is the make and model of the existing fire alarm systems? A: The Branch Ave station fire alarm system is an FCI SBP Series 4 Zone panel, per information provided by Encore Fire Protection, who hold the service contract for our alarm systems.
