The City of New Haven is requesting qualifications from a multi-disciplinary team that includes, at a minimum, design, development, and financial consultants with proven experience in adaptive reuse of historic buildings within the context of neighborhood revitalization. The team should also be experienced in community-driven planning processes and have a commitment to integrating climate and equity considerations into projects. This RFQ pertains to the redevelopment of the Goffe Street Armory, located in the Dixwell neighborhood of New Haven, as well as the surrounding district.The Goffe Street Armory is a 160,000 square foot architectural landmark owned by the City of New Haven and located in the heart of the Dixwell neighborhood. Constructed in 1915, it has served as a significant civic space for over a century and is recognized on the National Register of Historic Places and the Connecticut Freedom Trail for its role in the Civil Rights Movement and Connecticut’s Black history.
