Description

Lextran is a technologically diverse entity and exists in two separate locations, the Transit Center (220 E Vine St.) and the Administrative Headquarters (200 W Loudon Ave.). Both locations are connected via fiber E-line through Spectrum Enterprise. All Lextran’s vehicles are equipped with a computer-aided dispatch/automatic vehicle location (CAD/AVL) system that communicates via cellular signal back to Lextran’s Headquarters and shows the real time bus location to our dispatchers and customers.Lextran is seeking a firm to provide technology support on an as-needed basis, in coordination with Lextran staff. Examples (not an all-inclusive list) of services that might be asked of the selected vendor include:Networking services. The selected vendor might be asked to provide network maintenance of routers, switches, bridges, firewalls, and access points.Project planning. The selected vendor might be asked for their technical knowledge in planning large scale technology projects, including software and hardware specifications.Project implementation. The selected vendor might be asked for assistance in implementing technology projects, including configuration of hardware, deploying software, employee training, and so forth.Lextran will request work of the selected vendor as either general technology support or through task orders. There is an initial task order, a Network Security Audit and Evaluation, included in this request for proposals.
