Fort Fremont Stairs and Rails Design/Build

Description

Beaufort County is soliciting sealed proposals from qualified Design-Build firms for the design, engineering, fabrication, and installation of stairs, railings, security doors, and security window systems at Fort Fremont Preserve located in St. Helena Island, South Carolina.The selected Design-Build contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, materials, equipment, transportation, engineering, fabrication, permitting assistance, site protection, demolition, and incidentals necessary to complete the project in accordance with the Scope of Work and all applicable codes and standards.The improvements are intended to:Improve public safety and pedestrian circulation;Enhance accessibility and visitor flow along the fort battery;Protect historic structures and features from damage;Provide secure enclosures for designated exhibit rooms; andMaintain the historic and visual character of Fort Fremont Preserve.The County intends to select the proposal that provides the best overall value based upon qualifications, technical approach, experience, schedule, price, and understanding of the project requirements.
