The goal of this RFA is to fund a strength-based, trauma informed and culturally responsive program that aids in the prevention of child maltreatment and neglect in children ages 0 to 5 years. Funded strategies will include parent support & connection, home visiting and case management to help families build resiliency and strengthen protective factors and to connect families to concrete services. Through these strategies, this RFA aims to improve maternal and early childhood outcomes for all families with children, including a special focus on African American families within the communities of Arden Arcade and Valley Hi. A maximum of $12,630,708 is available cumulatively over a three-year period. A total of $2,250,000 ($750,000 per year over a three-year period) must be dedicated to fund the Sacramento Children’s Home The Village program and Mutual Assistance Network’s Strong Families, Strong Generations program focusing on African American families.
