Financial Empowerment Center Operations

Description

The successful applicant will partner with the City of New Haven’s Local Government Manager to provide management of the New Haven Financial Empowerment Center financial counselors, develop new and maintain existing partnerships for the duration of the contract. The organization will be responsible for hiring and retaining three nationally-certified counselors (training provided). In addition to providing financial counseling, the proposal should also include plans to:Provide navigation services to a range of related services including housing supports, federal, state, and local benefits, consumer protection reentry services.Integrate with existing social and community services including establishing referral agreements with various municipal and private entities.The City plans to engage a professional organization that can provide financial services with funding from the American Rescue Plan Act, and the applicant will be expected to oblige by all current and forthcoming rules related to allowable expenditures under the act.
