The City of Fort Myers, Florida (“City”), is soliciting sealed proposals from qualified and experienced firms to provide comprehensive drug and alcohol testing services in accordance with the Florida Drug-Free Workplace Act, Section 440.102, Florida Statutes, and all other applicable federal and state regulations, including U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations under 49 CFR Part 40 for safety-sensitive positions.The purpose of this RFP is to secure a qualified vendor to administer, manage, and support the City’s Drug-Free Workplace Program to ensure compliance, promote employee safety, reduce workplace risk, and maintain eligibility for workers’ compensation premium discounts available under Florida law.The city intends to enter into a contractual agreement with a firm possessing demonstrated expertise in providing drug and alcohol testing services to public sector employers in Florida.
