CITY OF RUTLAND CITY HALL, 1 STRONGS AVENUE POST OFFICE BOX 969 RUTLAND, VERMONT 05702 FY 2027 BITUMINOUS CONCRETE PAVING, PAVEMENT RECLAIMING & PAVEMENT MILLING ADDENDUM #1 This addendum addresses questions received and errors in the Invitation to Bid. The bid due date and bid opening date has no changed. All bidders shall provide a signed copy of this addendum with their bid package. All bidders shall utilize the REVISED BID SHEET attached Question #1: Is the Contractor expected to cover the cost of railroad insurance and flagging operations at railroad crossings at Allen Street, Granger Street, & Spruce Street. Answer: The Contractor shall acquire all of the necessary permits, insurances, etc., as required by the State of Vermont and the Railroad. The cost shall be itemized as its own independent bid item. Bidders shall include the attached supplemental bid sheet when submitted your bid. Question #2: Can the Contractor close Allen Street during paving operations. Answer: During daytime operations, the Contractor shall keep one lane of traffic open on Allen Street. The Contractor can elect to complete Allen Street at night, in which case a change order would be necessary. Be advised that additional night work would be permissible in an effort to allow the contractor to maximize efficiency. Clarifications: 1) The work outlined in the Invitation to Bid is to be completed during Fiscal Year 2027 (July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027). The schedule shall be determined following the award of the bid. 2) The list of Transitions to Street Aprons is as follows: • • • • • • Streets intersecting Curtis Avenue: o Gay Street Streets intersecting Nichols Street o Grant Avenue, William Street, Burnham Avenue Streets intersecting Church Street o Roberts Avenue, Kingsley Avenue, Seabury Street Streets intersection Grove Street o Seabury Street, Park Avenue, Crescent Street Streets intersecting Granger Street o South Street (west of intersection), First Street, Hickory Street Streets intersection Spruce Street o South Street (easy of intersection) If main line road elevation does not change and the adjoining street apron is in good condition, the city may elect not to perform any work on adjoining streets.
