Downtown Stormwater Drainage Improvements - First Street Flood Risk Reduction Professional Services

Description

The City of Fort Myers seeks qualified professional firms to provide comprehensive engineering, environmental, permitting, and construction phase services for stormwater drainage improvements along First Street in downtown Fort Myers. The project is funded through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP), administered by the Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) and CDBG-DR.The project is intended to reduce repetitive stormwater flooding impacting approximately 1 mile (5280 linear feet) of First Street from Edison Bridge west toward Virgina Avenue. The proposed improvements will increase stormwater system capacity to mitigate flooding associated with intense rainfall events and coastal influences, protecting roadway infrastructure, maintaining emergency access, and reducing loss of function within the downtown corridor.The selected firm shall provide all professional services necessary to evaluate, design, permit, and support construction of stormwater infrastructure improvements, including upsized piping, culverts, drainage structures, and associated roadway restoration.
