Downtown Parking Garage Design-Build Services

Description

The City of Edinburg seeks a Design-Build contractor to design and build a new parking garage in downtown Edinburg. The parking garage will be located at 201 N. Closner Blvd, which is north of the new Hidalgo County Courthouse on an existing surface parking lot at the intersection of W. McIntyre, N. Closner, and W. Kuhn St. The City is planning the design and construction of its Parking Garage at the current downtown location. Successful completion of this project will provide the City with adequate space for its visitors, improved operational efficiency, adequate parking for visitors, a clear and simple orientation/graphic system, and reduced operational and maintenance expenses (through the incorporation of cost-effective and durable elements).  The project is intended to be completed by October 2026.The Design-Build contractor will evaluate the basic program requirements and provide the owner with the most cost-effective solution within the budget allocation of $6.2M for the cost of work. Special emphasis on maintenance and durability will be considered to provide a long-term solution for the City of Edinburg's investment.
