DCAM-24-CS-RFP-0035 Burrville Elementary School Modernization

Description

The Department anticipates awarding a design-build contract (the “Agreement”, “Contract” or “Design-Build Agreement”) to the Offeror whose Proposal is most advantageous to the District.  The Project includes full design and construction services for Burrville ES, which will be an approximately 84,000-square-foot school facility.   The Design-Builder shall design and construct a new school to increase the existing footprint to accommodate the square footage required in the educational specifications (“Ed Spec (s)” or “Educational Specifications”) to bring it in line with the District of Columbia Public Schools (“DCPS”) Ed Specs.Burrville ES was built in 1979. The project in 1979 included the demolition of an existing school building located on the south portion of the site where the parking lot is currently located. The building has since had two additional construction projects, including a Phase 1 Modernization in 2010, and exterior upgrades in 2019. The building has an existing photovoltaic system which will be removed before construction commences.
