D.A. Porath Sanitation Facility Upgrade Access Hatch Project

Description

The project location in the County of Santa Cruz is as follows:• D.A. Porath Sanitation Facility, 2750 Lode Street, Santa Cruz, CA 95062The subject work involves providing access upgrades to the D.A. Porath Pump Station wet well by installing two new access hatches, one as an expansion of the existing opening, and the other in a second location. This project is being proposed to improve safety and access to the existing wet well located underneath the pump building’s concrete floor.The project will construct the access hatches in phases to keep the pump building operational during construction. The first order of work is for the contractor to employ Ground Penetrating Radar technology to identify the existing structural features in the proposed work area. Once positively identified, the contractor will be able to install the access hatch in the new location. Once this hatch is installed, the District will remove and relocate the existing electrical equipment, hoist, and floats located at the existing wet well access opening to the new hatch. Then the contractor will be able to remove a nonstructural interior wall, air duct system, water filtration system, and door to be able to expand the existing access opening in the wet well and install the new hatch. The contractor will then replace the removed section of wall and air ducting and extend the water line to the relocated water filtration system.Complete the work within 90 working days.The estimated cost of the project is $110,000.You must have either a Class A license or a combination of Class C licenses which constitutes a majority of the work: C-5, C-8, C-36, C-42, C-50, and C61/D06.
