Description

Addendum # 2 8/13/25 Added Scope The controls contractor shall provide and install new temperature and humidity sensors to the existing Walk-in refrigerator and freezer in the kitchen. The BAS shall monitor the temperature and humidity levels of these two spaces and alarm if the temperature or humidity is above or below five degrees and 5% RH of set point Questions & Answers Question: On page 9, ME004, Building Automation System, Section A. This section describes "Provide Honeywell Controls." Could you be more specific? Does the JACE need to be a Honeywell branded JACE? Do you want Honeywell Thermostats (like the TC500A-N), or are you just looking for programable controllers that are Honeywell Branded? Answer: The controls shall be Honeywell manufactured controls. See sheet ME006 for specific controls information. (Also see Addendum # 1 for exceptions.) Question: On page 9, ME004, Building Automation System, Section A. This section also describes "The furnace controls shall have modulating heat" and "The second stage of cooling shall be Modulating Refrigerated Cooling." However, the equipment specified in the schedule requires OEM Carrier Communicating thermostats to modulate the heating or cooling. Using 3rd party control would only provide 2 stage operation. Answer: The furnace can operate as a modulating furnace with a single stage thermostat because the furnace CPU includes a programmed adaptive sequence of controlled operation, which selects a modulated rate between minimum and maximum heat. 2 speed cooling is acceptable. Question: On page 9, ME004, Building Automation System, Section C. This section describes "Control to discharge air temperature setpoints for heating and cooling." Similar to the question above, these units are typical residential style equipment, and are designed to be controlled to a space temperature, not a discharge air temperature. 2 Stage control of this equipment to a Discharge Temp would cause short cycling since 3rd party controls cannot control the modulation of the equipment. Answer: The furnaces shall be allowed to operate on their own internal controls. The discharge air sensors shall be used as an alarm if the discharge air is above 100F or below 40 F (adjustable).
