Cross Bar / Al Bar Ecological Consultant

Description

The objective is to contract with a knowledgeable ecological consulting firm that will be responsible for all tasks related to ecosystem management and the water resource protection components for the Cross Bar / Al Bar Ranch property. Contractor responsibilities include evaluation of current Total Ecosystem Management Program (Forestry, Agriculture and Wildlife Management/Habitat Restoration), the current conditions on the 12,381 acres of the Cross Bar and Al Bar Ranch property, and identification of areas of concern with recommended improvement strategies. Related tasks include grant and cooperative funding proposals, prescribed burns, habitat restoration and management, maintain a GIS/geodatabase and the associated maps, wetlands monitoring, seasonal quantitative and qualitative wildlife surveys for selected species, wildlife utilization reports, exotic vegetation control in certain habitats, evaluate and manage the implementation of potential revenue opportunities. Many tasks will be performed with cooperation and support of the contracted Forester and Land Manager.
