Formed in July 2014 the Sustainability Department strives to improve the sustainability of the County’s operations and the greater community through work in areas of renewable energy and energy efficiency; resource conservation; alternative transportation; and greenhouse gas emission reductions. One area of the Sustainability Department’s work is to ensure the County complies with state laws such as AB 939, AB 1826, AB 341, and SB 1383. The Sustainability Department is requesting proposals for a Countywide Siting Element Compliance and Disposal Capacity Planning Consultant to assist with evaluating, documenting, and addressing the County’s projected solid waste disposal capacity needs in response to California requirements related to the Countywide Siting Element of the Countywide Integrated Waste Management Plan.
