Contracted Shared Mobility Services

Description

The City of Santa Monica Transportation Department (SaMoDOT) seeks proposals to operate shared mobility services (e.g., shared e-scooters, e-bikes, and sit-down scooters) throughout the City of Santa Monica, California (referred to hereafter as “the City”). SaMoDOT seeks deployment of shared mobility devices in the City and the start of operations on October 1, 2023. The City is inviting proposals from qualified persons or firms interested in a Shared Mobility provider agreement for an initial term of three years until Fall 2026, with three 1-year options for renewal, to be exercised at the City’s sole discretion. This Request for Proposals (RFP) seeks an innovative, implementable, and sustainable Scope of Work for shared mobility system(s) that build on lessons learned from two successful pilot programs in the City. Scopes of Work should leverage public/private opportunities in a dynamic marketplace and advance City goals around safety, equity, and climate change. SaMoDOT expects to enter contracts with up to two (2) successful respondents to operate shared mobility services in Santa Monica. SaMoDOT reserves the right to use this solicitation to issue an exclusive right to one (1) successful respondent to operate shared mobility devices and share revenue with the City as the sole provider within the municipal boundaries of Santa Monica.
