The Tucson Unified School District (TUSD), encompassing 87 schools and several support sites, is seeking to transform the safety and security of its students, staff, and community through cutting-edge security technology. Given the aging infrastructure of many TUSD buildings, there is an urgent need to evaluate the current security systems to ensure they align with the latest technological advancements. The district aims to solicit proposals from highly qualified security consultant organizations to conduct a comprehensive assessment of existing security measures, including fixed and portable camera systems, fire and burglary alarm systems, and advanced access control mechanisms. This evaluation will identify gaps and vulnerabilities within the current infrastructure, enabling TUSD to implement pioneering technological improvements that place the district at the forefront of school security.The scope of the project includes recommending the most advanced hardware and software solutions, developing a phased implementation plan, and ensuring compliance with cutting-edge security technology standards. Additionally, the consultant will assist in engaging vendors to provide cost estimates for the recommended upgrades and expansions.
