Seminole County Solid Waste Management Division (SWMD) operates an integrated solid waste management system that includes County owned transfer station and landfill. The two facilities include a household hazardous waste (HHW) at the Central Transfer Station (CTS) and public used oil collection center (PUOCC) at the Osceola Road Landfill (OLF), respectively.Both the HHW and PUOCC are self-service collection centers for residents of Seminole County and the cities of Maitland and Winter Park to bring a variety of potentially hazardous materials. Automotive waste fluids such as used oil, used oil filters, antifreeze, unwanted gas, and other automotive waste products are dropped off at our self-service facilities at the CTS and OLF on a daily basis.In addition, Fleet Maintenance, two County Water and Wastewater Treatment plants, the Fleet and Facilities Division, and the Sheriff's Office operate vehicle and/or equipment maintenance facilities that accumulate used oil, oil filters, antifreeze, hydraulic fluids, solvents and unwanted fuels.
