Child Protective Services - Post-Adoptive Services

Adoption is a life-long process that permanently changes the lives of those involved, including birth parents, children, and adoptive families.  The goals of post-adoption services are to strengthen and empower birth and adoptive families.Sacramento County is soliciting proposals for a one-year project from organizations that have experience providing post-adoption services in Sacramento County.  Allocated funding for these services is an amount up to $310,000. The promotion of safe and stable families through adoption promotion and support, mentor support groups and adoptive parent training.  Post Adoption Services provides support and guidance to families that have finalized or within 3 months of their adoption but could still benefit from supportive assistance such as information and referral, support groups, respite care, and advocacy help to normalize their view of their situation, relieve ongoing stress, strengthen coping abilities, and assist in obtaining needed resources for their family.
