Cathodic Protection System Survey

Description

The selected firm (Consultant) shall provide professional services to conduct a survey of West Basin’s galvanic cathodic protection system that protects metallic pipelines throughout the recycled water distribution system. The Cathodic Protection Survey (Project) will include testing of cathodic protection (CP) test stations to determine (a) if the pipelines are adequately protected, and (b) the remaining life of the anodes. Additionally, the Consultant will perform minor repairs to the existing CP systems. These repairs are discussed in further detail in Section 2.2 of this scope of work. The proposed system testing and improvements will be performed in various cities throughout West Basin’s recycled water distribution system. The distribution system has 110 miles of pipelines, with approximately 45 miles of metallic pipelines, and 366 CP test stations. Therefore, all testing and improvements must be performed in accordance with West Basin’s and each respective City’s requirements.  In addition, the consultant shall identify deficiencies in the current cathodic protection system and provide a cost estimate for repairs.
