The City of Banning (“City”) is seeking a qualified entity or individual (“Company”) to provide the services listed in the Scope of Work. IntroductionThe City of Banning is soliciting proposals from firms with demonstrated experience in conducting assessments to expand broadband network solutions to unserved and underserved areas in support of economic advancements in a disadvantaged community. The consultant will be tasked with identifying quality solutions for deployment of reliable, high-performance broadband access in Banning to improve education outcomes, business retention, business expansion, and provide opportunities for high-quality employment. This project will address broadband capacity and connectivity concerns critical to Banning’s growth and future economic resiliency.This feasibility study, funded by a State of California Local Agency Technical Assistance (LATA) grant, will enable the City to address broadband capacity and connectivity concerns critical to Banning’s growth and future economic resiliency and make informed decisions related to workforce retention and economic growth. Extending broadband throughout Banning will provide economic sustainability for several economic drivers, including logistics, housing development, media and entertainment, healthcare, and retail.
