Bridge Repair - Slate Mine Road At Pine Log Creek Rebid

Description

The Gordon County Board of Commissioners is accepting sealed written bids from qualified contractors for the bridge repair on Slate Mine Road at Pine Log Creek. This project consists of repairing concrete by locating existing reinforcing steel and miscellaneous concrete embedments; saw cutting concrete; removing deteriorated concrete and/or existing patch material; and installing concrete patch material. Work also includes bridge painting (cleaning and repainting beams), adding rip-rap as directed, cleaning and resealing deck joints, and realigning bearings/repairing anchor bolts. All work must be performed in accordance with specifications, plans, and engineering directions. BONDING REQUIREMENTS Bid Bond: 5% of the total bid (O.C.G.A. §32-4-67), duly executed by the bidder and a surety company authorized in Georgia and listed on the latest U.S. Treasury Circular 570. Bid bonds for unsuccessful bidders will be returned once a contract award decision has been made. Performance Bond: 100% of the bid amount, executed by the contractor and a corporate bonding company licensed in Georgia and named on the current list of "Surety Companies Acceptable on Federal Bonds". Payment Bond: 100% of the bid amount, executed by the contractor and a corporate bonding company licensed in Georgia and named on the current list of "Surety Companies Acceptable on Federal Bonds." Note: A payment bond shall be required for all public works construction contracts with an estimated contract amount greater than $100,000.00. Bridge Bond: (O.C.G.A §32-4-70) A specialized bond covering the structural integrity and warranty of the Slate Mine Road bridge repairs, requiring the contractor to keep the bridge in good condition for a period of not less than 7 years.
