The Victorville Water District (District) is soliciting proposals from qualified contractors for the construction of security improvements at Well Sites 128, 131, and 201. The primary scope of work includes the construction of a 6-foot-high CMU block wall with 4-foot-high anti-climb spike extenders.For sites located in residential areas, minor design variations have been incorporated to address aesthetic considerations and safety needs. These variations include shorter spike extenders to improve visual compatibility with surrounding residences and the use of pony walls in certain locations to maintain adequate driver visibility.The project also includes the procurement and installation of automated slide gates and man gates, as detailed in the project plans. Additional work includes the removal of existing chain-link fencing, construction of concrete footings for new walls and gates, and installation of automated slide gate operator systems, including required electrical connections and wiring.Additional work includes the construction of an 8-inch-thick concrete driveway, decorative landscaping improvements at residential sites, installation of temporary construction fencing, overexcavation where necessary to achieve proper compaction of the wall subgrade, and removal or trimming of trees, shrubs, and vegetation as necessary to facilitate construction.
