ADDENDUM TO BID NO. 2005 GARDEN GROVE UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTIRCT Purchasing Department 10331 Stanford Avenue Garden Grove, Ca 92840 (714) 663-6340 Date: April 21, 2021 Project: Special Ed Transportation From: Emily Hughes, Purchasing Addendum Number: 1 You are hereby notified of the following changes, additions or deletions to the Documents for the above titled Project. Take careful note of the addendum so that proper allowance may be made. Questions per verbatim: Q. Can you provide an estimated date of award? A. The targeted award date for this contract will be June 2021, services shall start for the next fiscal year on July 1, 2021. Q. Will you accept alternate pricing proposals that charge a base fee + per mile format? This means you never pay for unused time when students are being transported. A. No, pricing proposals must be bid following the pricing structure that is listed on the bid form pricing matrix. Q. Under the existing pricing structure, what is the current/projected annual cost of transportation? A. Projected annual GGUSD transportation cost $12.8 million. Q. Will you provide sample invoices from the current vendor? A. No, we will not be able to provide sample invoices from the current vendor at this time. Q. Can you provide student data for the most recent school year? This can be limited to student pick up/drop off addresses, school addresses, and bell times. If applicable, please provide equipment requirements (car seats, safety vest, wheelchairs, etc.), and monitor requirements. A. No, please refer to the sample route information provided in the bid form pricing matrix. Any and all equipment requirements are listed in the section titled “Special Conditions” of the bid packet. Q. Will you provide the projected number of students or routes? A. Approximately 30 routes more or less. Q. Can you provide your average one-way (home to school, or school to home) mileage for the most recent school year? A. Approximately 5 miles. Q. The bid form matrix for bid 1 and bid 111 require a 15 amb and 3 wheelchair positions, so at 3 to a seat that is 5 seats. In the special conditions section line 7 the request is for 20 passenger, 10 seats and 3 wheelchair positions. 10 seats is 30 students 3 to a seat or 20 students 2 to a seat. It’s not possible to have 10 seats and 3 wheelchair positions on a Type A 24/30 passenger bus. The maximum passenger capacity on a Type A bus with 3 w/c positions would be 3 seats.
