The EHDI-MS (Early Hearing Detection and Intervention – Mississippi) Program is seeking to contract with two (2) qualified audiologists to provide training and technical assistance in support of efforts to expand hearing screening for infants and toddlers up to 36 months of age. This initiative aligns with federal EHDI requirements to identify and refer children with late-onset hearing loss for early intervention as early as possible. Multiple vendors may be awarded.As part of this contract, the consultants will collaborate with the State EHDI Program to develop and/or revise a comprehensive plan for hearing screening implementation in early care and education settings. The contractors will also create or update training materials for early care and education personnel and deliver direct training and technical assistance to selected sites. In addition, the consultants will provide oversight during implementation to ensure screenings are administered accurately, results are interpreted appropriately, and referrals for follow-up care are made when indicated.The consultants will also support early care and education personnel in reporting screening outcomes to the State EHDI Program. This work will require travel to early care and education centers and in-person support throughout the pilot phase of the hearing screening program. Through this partnership, the EHDI-MS Program will strengthen its capacity to identify hearing loss in young children and promote timely access to necessary interventions.
