Athletic Training Services

Description

The District seeks to enter into a contract with a vendor(s) to provide six (6) Certified Athletic Trainers for schools within the Gilbert Unified School District. The Certified Athletic Trainers will be assigned to cover practices and events at five (5) high schools, five (5) junior high schools and one (1) non-traditional academy within the district. The District also seeks access to up to five (5) physicians to attend all home varsity football games.The Services will be limited to:Evaluation and treatment of minor injuries.Application of first aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) assistance pending the arrival of ambulance services in the case of major injuries.Preventative taping and strapping of athletes as needed.Providing nutritional information to student athletes.Providing basic educational information to student trainers and managers in the course of performing the services.Providing recommendations for exercise or other physical measures for minor injuries under the directions, supervision and review of a physician.
