Alliant Energy Center Exhibition Hall Expansion - CXP

Description

Dane County is inviting proposals for professional commissioning services (CXP) for the Alliant Energy Center Exhibition Hall Expansion project that is currently in the Design Development Phase. Commissioning services are expected to commence in 2026 at the onset of the Construction Documents Development phase.The Alliant Energy Center Exhibition Hall was constructed in the late 1990’s and is in need of expansion and improvements to meet future event needs. This project will expand the current facility by 201,000SF in two phases from the existing 243,000SF to a final 444,000SF finished exhibition venue. In addition to new exhibit spaces, the new facility will include Administration space, multipurpose rentable space and a new Bistro.Dane County has hired an architectural / engineering design team (A/E). The Commissioning Provider will work with Dane County and the team from Strang Inc to complete this project, from the Construction Documents phase through bidding, construction & commissioning.  Following the design phase, a General Contractor will be hired to construct the project.  The Commissioning Provider will be a part of this General Contractor hiring process as well as fully involved in the design, construction & commissioning phases.  The design process may last until October 2026 with bidding and construction to follow contingent on budget.The Commissioning Services Provider (CxP) will be independent, but still a part of the design team and will report directly to the Public Works Project Manager.
