Knox County Board of Commissioners Drenda Keesee Barry Lester Bill Pursel Clerk/Administrative Assistant County Administrator Budget Analyst Mallory Poole Jason Booth Penny Doyle ________________________________________________________________ May 21, 2026 NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING - ADDENDUM The Knox County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at 10:30 a.m., in order to discuss the proposed PY 2026 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Allocation grant applications. The hearing will be held in the large boardroom at the Commissioners’ Office, 117 East High Street, Suite 161, Mount Vernon, OH 43050. Knox County is eligible for $750,000 in Program Year 2026 CDBG Neighborhood Revitalization funds, provided the County meets applicable program requirements. Out of the $750,000, $50,000 is for administration, and $700,000 will be used for park and recreation improvements, bathroom facilities, sidewalk improvements, and street improvements throughout the Village of Danville. The project will meet the national objective of benefiting low-to moderate-income persons. Funding amounts for each activity are approximate. Each activity will be discussed at the public hearing. The presentation will identify the amounts and sources of matching funds for the grant. Activity amounts for each activity are approximate and will be finalized at the public hearing. Awards for the proposed grant will be announced in August 2026, and all work must be completed by August 2028. Citizens are encouraged to attend the public hearing to provide input and comment on the proposed applications before they are submitted to the Ohio Department of Development on June 10, 2026.
