Town of Surfside RFP 2023-04 Design Services for the Surfside Memorial Addendum No. 2 Date Issued: August 16, 2023 To All Respondents: Respondents for the above-referenced RFP shall take note of the following changes, additions, deletions or clarifications to RFP No. 2023-04, which in accordance with the RFP documents shall become a part of and have precedence over anything shown or described otherwise in the RFP. THE FOLLOWING RESPONSES ARE PROVIDED TO QUESTIONS RECEIVED: 1. Is there a programmatic list of requirements other than the aspirations and potential elements described in Attachment “A"? Such as a need for a restroom, etc. Slide 9 does state a list of "physical structures" and we want to be sure that is all that is required. There is a comment about overhead canopy, can there be a second level “lookout” that allows for separation from beachgoers? Obviously we will access from an ADA perspective and note that an elevator is not possible, thus ramping or other means to get memorial goers up will be required. The details provided in Attachment “A” comprise our current information. To clarify, we don't anticipate requiring a restroom or an elevator. The Memorial's design must adhere to ADA standards. 2. In regards to design concept, CCNA places qualifications over price or a specific design. The Town of Surfside is clearly requesting a design concept and I want to be sure hand sketches that clearly articulate the design approach and concept are acceptable? What information are you looking for with the concept with the understanding that this project is under CCNA rules? For a comprehensive understanding of expectations, kindly review the RFP for detailed information about the Proposal and Presentation requirements. We're seeking a high-level design concept, and it's important to note that firm qualifications have already been evaluated in compliance with CCNA rules. All shortlisted firms possess the necessary qualifications. 3. We are artists too, and wanted to ask if we would be precluded from participating in the public art call if we are selected? 1 At present, the prerequisites for the Call for Artists have not been finalized. 4. Can you provide us the current scoring of the shortlisted firms? The short-listed firms have been ranked and scored through RFQ 2023-02 as follows: 1) Bermello Ajamil & Partners 2) Brooks + Scarpa Architects Inc.
