If the budget is for 40,000 pounds of catfish for $100,000, does that mean I have to keep my bid within the budget? RESPONSE: The annual budget for catfish has been $100,000 and rainbow trout has been $500,000 and is anticipated to remain the same in 2027. The bid of ‘price per pound’ will determine how many pounds are able to be stocked. 2. Are there separate bids for catfish and rainbow trout? RESPONSE: Yes, there would be separate bids for catfish and rainbow trout. Request for Bids were sent to vendors noted by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife’s 2026 Registered Aquaculturalists.
