ADDENDUM #03 Berkeley Unified School District Sylvia Mendez Modernization FFE ADDENDUM #03 Date: May 3, 2024 ADDENDUM TO RFQ DOCUMENTS The following clarifications are provided based on questions received or changes in District requirements and will be considered when completing your submittal: Acknowledging receipt of this ADDENDUM is required for your proposal. Please clearly note the addendum date and number. CLARIFICATIONS: 1. Is your expectation that respondents provide 3D renderings for the indicated spaces (standard classroom, flex classroom/community room, and new lobby and administration area) that are specific for the dimensions of the school site in our responses? a. The District is interested in seeing your creative interpretation of the spaces in any visual format. 2. Can you please clarify your definition of “work sample” and “mock-up classroom design”? a. The District is interested in seeing your examples of a mock up classroom design. We currently do not have any set definitions. 3. OUTDOOR LEARNING SPACE – are we to quote and furnish this area? How many students? Will the furniture remain outside or go back and forth inside and outside? If so, I guess all we can do is Promenade. a. This area is in the scope of the project. However we will need to work with the end users to determine the furniture needs of this space. 4. LIBRARY –there built in casework included. Are we providing tables and chairs and lounge pieces? a. At this time, the library furniture is to be determined. Once a furniture vendor is selected, we will work with the site to determine the priority of existing spaces. 5. Is the WELLNESS ROOM for an unwell student? IE: does it need a bed? I think that would go in the Nurse’s Office. What is the function of the WELLNESS ROOM? a. A Wellness Room would serve as a space for students to reset and restore. While this is a District priority at our High School and Middle Schools, it appears that there is not a wellness room at this site at this time. 1 6. How many staff in the STAFF ROOM ? - I would assume touch down stations for “x” number of people. a. This is still to be determined. Facilities will engage with the site to determine what the needs of the will be. 7. STAFF LOUNGE #201C – tables and chairs for lunch? QTY? a. STAFF LOUNGE #201C – tables and chairs for lunch? QTY?
