Spartanburg Community College Cherokee Campus Whelchel Road Entranceway Project No. H59-N153-MJ Addendum Two September 28, 2023 Item No. 1: The new catch basin near the drive connection to the existing CAMIT parking lot is a hooded agree inlet (Detail 4.1L) with a throat elevation of 857.85 and invert elevation of 853.30. The storm drain pipe is 150 LF of 15” RCP laid at 2.33%, and connects to the existing grate inlet basin in the CAMIT parking lot. These items are part of the project scope. See revised CV2.1 (attached). Item No. 2: The asphalt pavement patch over the newly installed 15” RCP is compacted structural fill up to the top of subgrade, then 4” crusher run stone, 6” of concrete (4,000 psi), and 2” asphalt surface course (type C). Item No. 3: The grading shall be balanced on site. Any excess soil or unsuitable soil shall be spread on site in coordination with the Owner and Engineer. Any material needed shall be borrowed from site in coordination with the Owner and Engineer. Item No. 4: The unit price item no. 2 (Asphalt Pavement Section) is based on the heavy duty asphalt pavement detail (Detail 4.1H). Item No. 5: A fifth unit price item is requested (see revised SE-330 form attached). The item description is Undercut Unsuitable Soil and Backfill with Structural Fill with a unit of measure of CY. This item is defined as undercutting (excavating) material, disposing material on-site, backfilling excavation with structural fill from on-site borrow. This item will be used if unsuitable subgrade material is identified by the third-party geotechnical technician in the roadway area.
