ADDENDUM #02 Berkeley Unified School District Sylvia Mendez Modernization FFE ADDENDUM #02 Date: April 19, 2024 ADDENDUM TO RFQ DOCUMENTS The following clarifications are provided based on questions received or changes in District requirements and will be considered when completing your submittal: Acknowledging receipt of this ADDENDUM is required for your proposal. Please clearly note the addendum date and number. CLARIFICATIONS: 1. Q. Are there any furniture specifications? A. The District does not have any specific type of furniture specifications for classroom furniture. Facilities would like to see your recommendations. 2. Q. Is the outdoor learning space targeted to a specific grade level or the whole school? A. The entire school will be able to utilize the outdoor learning space. 3. Q. On page 1, section B project description, it says: The types of spaces needing design and furniture include standard classrooms, a science classroom, a wellness center, ancillary spaces, administrative offices, and one outdoor learning space. However, on page 3, tab 2, it only asks for standard classroom, flex classroom/community room, and new lobby and administration area. Which list should be followed to provide 3D renderings? A. Please provide renderings for the following: a standard classroom, a flex classroom/ community room, and new lobby and administration area. 4. Q. On page 3, it is stated that the table of contents page will not be included in the page count. Will the cover page, tab divider pages, and end page be included in the page count? A. No, these pages will not be included in the page count. 5. Q. Please clarify which rooms are to be included in the administration area? A. The administration area on Drawing 2-A2.02 includes the principal’s office (100A), and other adjacent areas (100B, 100C, 100D, 100E) 1 6. Q. How many staff will be working in the built-in section of the admin area? A. At this time, the site has a Principal, administrative assistant, and sometimes additional staff who may utilize the additional office. 7. Q. Can you provide elevations for this area? A. Please see elevations as an attachment to this addendum. 8. Q. Is there a specific room designated as the flex classroom/community room? A. Please see page 2-A2-03 Room 108 9. Q. What type of activities can we design for in the community room? Are there a number of students or adults we are designing to for a minimum? A.
