The Town of Hingham owns and operates (through Weir River Water System) an existing pump house for the purposes of withdrawing water from Accord Pond. The pump system itself is housed in a structure that is approximately 36’x25’ and connects to a gate house before the main intake lines extend out to the pond.According to available records there are currently two intake lines in the pond. One is an inactive, partially buried, 10” pipe that is connected directly to the pump house and extends approximately 400 feet into the pond. The active line exits the gatehouse before extending 50 +/- feet into the pond and is a 16” Cast Iron (C.I.) pipe.
