Project Overview : The neighborhood of View Drive, in Juneau, Alaska, has experienced significant flooding from annual glacial lake outburst (GLOF) events. Following a technical and engineering analysis, from the US Army Corps of Engineers, it was determined that temporary flood barriers (i.e. HESCO barriers) are not an effective solution for View Drive area due to soil stability, home elevations and other considerations.
