The Santa Cruz Wharf experienced powerful storms in December 2023 and in February 2024. Work to repair the damage caused by those storms was underway when an unprecedented high swell event on December 23, 2024 caused a partial collapse of the Wharf in the repair area. The City of Santa Cruz is moving forward to repair the significant damage that has taken place as well as strengthen and reinforce the existing structure at that location. The Project consists of the following major elements: 1. Removal and disposal of existing damaged piles, caps, stringers, decking and asphalt surface. 2. Installation/replacement of thirty-one (31) damaged or missing piles, and associated caps, stringers, decking, railings, and asphalt surface.
