RFP NO. 2019-006 REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS: Property and Casualty Insurance Jasper Independent School District Effective Date: September 1, 2019 1 SECTION 1 GENERAL INFORMATION & REQUIREMENTS 1. INVITATION TO SUBMIT PROPOSALS 1.1 Jasper Independent School District (hereafter referred to as the “District”) is requesting proposals from qualified carriers/underwriting companies, consortiums and other groups of entities to provide the requested and necessary insurance coverage for Property and Contents, Automobile Lability and Property Damage, General Commercial Liability, Educator’s General Liability as specified on the Proposal Response Forms attached hereto as Addendum 1 through 4. Any alternation in coverages, limits, protection, etc. not depicted in the specifications are welcomed, but must be submitted separately as an alternate proposal. Jasper Independent School District, and its Board of Trustees will be the named insureds. 1.3 Contract Term. The duration of the contract shall be for a one-year term beginning 12:01 am on September 1, 2019, with rates guaranteed for a term of one year from date of inception. Nothing in these specifications will prohibit the District from negotiating longer policy terms. The District shall have the discretion to establish a maximum allowable price escalation if a second year option is offered. Multiple year proposals may be offered as an additional option. 1.4 Insurance representative/insurance company is responsible for valued loss runs. The insurance carrier must submit complete and accurate loss information on a monthly basis during policy period as well as assist with outstanding claim issues, interpretation of coverages, etc. 1.5 Submission of Proposals. Respondent shall submit 4 copies of its Proposal (one original, 9 copies). Proposals submitted prior to the Submission Deadline may be modified provided such modifications are sealed and received at the District Administrative Offices prior to the time and date set for submission of proposals. Any proposal or modification received after this time shall not be considered. Proposals sent by facsimile or email will not be accepted. 1.6 District retains the right to reject any and all proposals submitted and to waive any and all formalities. District is not required to select the proposal with the lowest pricing, and will take into consideration other factors as described below.
