The existing SCADA system, GE iFix was developed based on the City’s previous Transdyne Dynac platform. This system was implemented with many of the original platform’s legacy features, such as data transfer functionality and overall aesthetics, which do not align with contemporary high-performance human machine interface (HMI) standards. The existing Oracle HDR system is roughly 23 years old and is also a carryover of a legacy database no longer commonly used within the water and wastewater industry. This has resulted in several challenges with ongoing system management, security and maintenance. The current, on-premise, hardware appliance is nearing end of life and the City is looking to move away from an on-prem solution due to maintenance costs.
