GRU is working towards replacing all of our existing 138kV oil circuit breakers (OCB) with new 138kV SF6 breakers. GRU currently has 31 OCBs in service and plans to replace 4-6 breakers per year. GRU will provide the new 138kV SF6 (Siemens) breakers for each project. Typical project scope information and drawings have been included as part of this specification. High level, the scope for each breaker replacement will include the following:Engineering designProcurement of all needed material except the new 138kV SF6 breakersModifying the existing OCB foundations while the breakers are still in serviceInstalling/modifying conduitsReplacement of control cablesRemoval and disposal of the existing 138kV oil circuit breaker and associated mineral oil.
