KENTUCKY STATE UNIVERSITY REQUEST FOR BID FOR EXTERIOR PAINTING SERVICES RFB 24-007 Issue Date: May 21, 2024 Closing Date and Time: June 12, 2:00 EDT Issued by: Fran Pinkston Kentucky State University Academic Services Building (ASB), Suite 429E 400 East Main Street Frankfort, KY 40601 502-597-6434 Frances.Pinkston@kysu.edu Page 1 of 15 Section 1 Purpose Kentucky State University is seeking bids from qualified and experienced painting contractors to provide professional painting services for the exterior surfaces of the Julian M. Carroll, Academic Services Building located at 400 East Main Street, Frankfort KY on the main University campus. The project scope includes wall repair, paint preparation, paint application, and cleanup. The information and instructions set forth below are designed to solicit responses that will demonstrate your company's capability to satisfy the University’s requirements. Each company is requested to submit its most competitive offer. Section 2 Bid Specifications SCOPE OF SERVICES The Service Provider (hereinafter called the “Contractor”) shall recognize and perform in accordance with all stated intents, specifications and stipulations contained or referenced. Each bidder shall be responsible for researching the existing conditions and matters that affect the cost or performance of the services. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, tools, services, skills, etc., required to perform duties outlined in the ensuing contract. The building and campus are open for inspection from 8:00am4:00pm Monday-Friday to familiarize oneself with measurements and conditions of the subject property. Contact the buyer for additional information if needed. The intent is to maintain a professional appearance of the property as determined by the University, and the Contractor shall maintain such appearance. Any discrepancies in the understanding of this clause shall be resolved in a manner as determined by the University. A. Project Description For the Contractor to properly perform and complete their work, the University will cooperate by providing access to the work areas and any staging, offloading or preparation areas that are required. The Contractor shall be familiar with the University Campus and understand how the existing conditions will affect the work during maintenance services.
