A request to reduce meter size shall be submitted to MOWD in writing and shall identify the property address, Assessor’s Parcel Number, MOWD account number, existing meter size, proposed meter size, and the reason for the request. The Applicant shall provide sufficient information for MOWD to determine that the smaller meter will adequately serve the existing and proposed uses on the property, including any changes in land use, fixture demand, irrigation demand, fire protection requirements, or other water service needs. MOWD staff shall review the request and may require supporting plans, fixture counts, or other documentation. If MOWD determines that the requested downsizing is feasible and consistent with District standards, the change may be approved administratively unless Board approval is otherwise required by this Policy or by unusual project circumstances. A down-sized meter request shall not entitle the customer to any additional water allocation, credit, or refund of previously paid connection, allocation, or capacity-related charges.
