The City of Amesbury through its Department of Public Works is seeking sealed bids for assorted paving projects. Clearly marked and sealed bids must be submitted to the Office of Administration and Finance, 1 Market Street, Office 215, Amesbury, MA 01913, by no later than 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at which time and place bids will be publicly opened and read. Bids may be submitted by mail or in-person delivery only. Bids submitted by email, fax, or any other method will not be accepted. Late bids will not be accepted regardless of the reason for lateness. Bidders assume the risk of delays in the mail or in the handling of the mail by city employees. The bidding for and award of the Contract for this project are to be in accordance with the requirements of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 30 § 39M. Bidders are on notice that this project is subject to the schedule of prevailing wage rates as determined by the Commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Division of Occupational Safety and applicable Federal Regulations. MassDOT prequalification of contractors with the class of work as Pavement Surfacing, for the project with an estimated value of $178,875 will be required. A Proposal Guaranty shall be in the form of either cash, bid bond, certified check, bank treasurer’s check, or bank cashier’s check, made payable to the City of Amesbury in the amount of 5% of the value of the bid.
