SECTION 02276 PART 1 - GENERAL 1.01 WORK INCLUDED A. B. C. D. 1.02 TEMPORARY EROSION AND SEDIMENTATION CONTROL Designing, providing, maintaining and removing temporary erosion and sedimentation controls as necessary. Temporary erosion controls may include, but are not limited to, mulching, netting, and watering, on site surfaces and spoil and borrow area surfaces and providing interceptor ditches at ends of berms and at those locations which will ensure that erosion during construction will be either eliminated or maintained within acceptable limits as established by the Owner. Temporary sedimentation controls include, but are not limited to, silt dams, traps, barriers, and appurtenances at the foot of sloped surfaces which will ensure that sedimentation pollution will be either eliminated or maintained within acceptable limits as established by the Owner. Contractor is responsible for providing effective temporary erosion and sediment control measures during construction or until final controls become effective. SUBMITTALS A. Submit schedule for temporary erosion and sedimentation control. PART 2 - PRODUCTS 2.01 2.02 EROSION CONTROL A. B. Mulch: FDOT type per Section 981-3.2, Green Mulch Netting: fabricated of material acceptable to the Owner. SEDIMENTATION CONTROL A. Bales: clean, seed free cereal hay type C. Filter stone: crushed stone conforming to Florida Department of Transportation specifications. B. Netting: fabricated of material acceptable to the Owner PART 3 - EXECUTION 05/13 02276-1 15-8083.2 3.01 3.02 3.03 EROSION CONTROL A. Minimum procedures for mulching and netting are: 1. 2. Apply mulch loosely and to a thickness of between 3/4 inch and 1 1/2 inches. Apply netting over mulched areas on sloped surfaces. SEDIMENTATION CONTROL A. Install and maintain silt dams, traps and barriers as shown on the approved schedule. Hay bales which deteriorate and filter stone which is dislodged shall be replaced as required. PERFORMANCE A. Should any of the temporary erosion and sediment control measures employed by the Contractor fail to produce results which comply with the requirements of the Owner, Contractor shall immediately take whatever steps are necessary to correct the deficiency at his own expense.
